Transform: Walking in His Victory
Series: Transform
Have you ever felt like life is a constant struggle, a battle? I am sure you have at least at some point in your life. The reason is because we are in a battle. The Bible tells us that “our struggle” is with unseen, spiritual forces that are against us and seek to tempt us into doing things that are not pleasing to our heavenly Father. The good news is that when Jesus taught us to pray, He taught us that God is not the source of temptation but instead He delivers us from the evil one who is the source of temptation. And, furthermore, our Father in heaven is well able to deal with the evil one because the kingdom, the power and the glory belong to Him forever.

Offense is something we all deal with on a daily basis. We have all been offended by others, and we have all offended others. When we take offense at what someone else does to us, we are in fact taking the bait that the enemy has put out to trap us. That’s why Jesus taught us to seek the Father’s forgiveness in the same way that we forgive others. Forgiveness has nothing to do with forgetting. We may never forget what was done to us, but we can choose to forgive. Making a choice to forgive is the only way to stay free from the enemy’s entrapment.

Summary: Most parents that I know love to take care of and provide for their children. God is no different. Jesus taught us to pray to our heavenly Father that He would provide for our daily needs. God provides more than just the basic needs of our physical life – food, drink, clothing, shelter. He also provides for our spiritual needs. Provision is not just about having money; it’s about having the abundant life that Jesus came to give us.

Summary: Jesus taught His disciples to pray that the Kingdom of God would be established on earth as it is in heaven. God’s kingdom is established wherever His will is done. That’s why the kingdom is already here in the hearts of believers who are committed to doing the Father’s will all around the world. God’s will is revealed to us in His Word. When we learn to pray and proclaim God’s Word over our lives, we are establishing His kingdom rule in our lives.

Establishing His Presence Series: Transform Text: Exodus 33:18-19; Matthew 6:9-13 Date: September 18th, 2016 at 10:45 am Summary: In the first sentence of the model prayer that Jesus taught His disciples, Jesus introduced two topics that are vitally important for us to learn in our spiritual growth. The first is the “Father heart of God” – He is our father and we are His children. The second is the “name of God” which bears His authority and tells us of His character. Both of these have to do with establishing the presence of God in our lives. It is only when we understand that God is a good father, and when we get a revelation of who He is as revealed in His name, that we will be able to fully establish His presence in our lives as we enter into prayer.

Summary: The Holy Spirit is the One who brings the transformational change that our lives need as we become more and more like Jesus. He is also the One who empowers us to influence others around us and bring transformational change to our families, our communities, our cities, and our world. This means, of course, that a healthy prayer life is essential to the transformational process. It all begins when we seek the Lord’s help. Unfortunately, many believers know they must pray, but they do not know how to do that effectively in order to see their prayers answered. The good news is that Jesus taught us exactly how to pray so that our prayers will get answered.

    The Invisible War

    Date: August 28th, 2016 at 10:45 am
Summary: The Scriptures clearly reveal to us that we are participants in an invisible war, whether we like it or not. This is not a physical war fought against flesh and blood, but a spiritual war fought against spiritual beings which we cannot see, but which are nevertheless very real. We are not defenceless, but have been equipped and empowered by the Lord to be able to walk in victory over our enemies. Jesus has given us authority over the enemy. Unfortunately, few of us walk in that authority because we have succumbed to the psychological warfare tactics – the lies and deceptions – of the enemy. It is time for us to press in and get close to the Lord and to learn from Him who we are. It is from this place of intimacy and identity that we will learn to walk in victory over all the schemes of the evil one.

    Transform: Entering the Promised Land
    Series: Transform
The Lord has called us as His church to proclaim the Gospel, offer eternal life to those who will believe in Him, and to restore the broken hearted. In short, we are called to bring God’s transforming power into this world, one life at a time. This is the purpose for which the church exists; it is the “promised land” that the Lord is bringing us into. But, to inherit the promised land the Lord is giving us, we will first have to get through the wilderness, and then overcome the giants that are in the Land. All this is only possible as we walk in close, intimate relationship with our heavenly Father.
