    Praying for a Change
Series: Transform Text: John 15:1-8; Matthew 6:9-13
    Date: September 4th, 2016 at 10:45 am
Summary: The Holy Spirit is the One who brings the transformational change that our lives need as we become more and more like Jesus. He is also the One who empowers us to influence others around us and bring transformational change to our families, our communities, our cities, and our world. This means, of course, that a healthy prayer life is essential to the transformational process. It all begins when we seek the Lord’s help. Unfortunately, many believers know they must pray, but they do not know how to do that effectively in order to see their prayers answered. The good news is that Jesus taught us exactly how to pray so that our prayers will get answered.

    The Invisible War
Series: Transform Text: Ephesians 6:10-18; 2 Corinthians 10:3-6
    Date: August 28th, 2016 at 10:45 am
Summary: The Scriptures clearly reveal to us that we are participants in an invisible war, whether we like it or not. This is not a physical war fought against flesh and blood, but a spiritual war fought against spiritual beings which we cannot see, but which are nevertheless very real. We are not defenceless, but have been equipped and empowered by the Lord to be able to walk in victory over our enemies. Jesus has given us authority over the enemy. Unfortunately, few of us walk in that authority because we have succumbed to the psychological warfare tactics – the lies and deceptions – of the enemy. It is time for us to press in and get close to the Lord and to learn from Him who we are. It is from this place of intimacy and identity that we will learn to walk in victory over all the schemes of the evil one.

    Transform: Entering the Promised Land
    Series: Transform
The Lord has called us as His church to proclaim the Gospel, offer eternal life to those who will believe in Him, and to restore the broken hearted. In short, we are called to bring God’s transforming power into this world, one life at a time. This is the purpose for which the church exists; it is the “promised land” that the Lord is bringing us into. But, to inherit the promised land the Lord is giving us, we will first have to get through the wilderness, and then overcome the giants that are in the Land. All this is only possible as we walk in close, intimate relationship with our heavenly Father.

Love Letters: To the Church in Hong Kong
    Series: Love Letters
One day Jesus asked His disciples a vital question to which every person must give an answer: “Who do you say that I am?” The way we answer this question determines everything about who we are and how we live our lives, both now in this life, and in the life to come. Peter’s answer to Jesus, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the Living God” was so profound and foundational that Jesus promised to establish His ekklesia upon it, and that the “gates of Hades (hell)” would not prevail against it. Each of us must also answer that question in our lives – “Who do I say that Jesus is?” And, our answer may well determine whether we are part of the church Jesus is building, or a part of the church that will “fall-away” in the last days.

Love Letters: Hot or Cold? The Choice is Yours!
    Series: Love Letters
Most people like to eat food and drink drinks that are either hot or cold. If a dish is supposed to be hot, we want it served hot otherwise we send it back to the kitchen. If it is supposed to be cold, we want it cold. It seems that most of us have a dislike for food or drink that is lukewarm. Interestingly, Jesus too dislikes lukewarm things, especially when it comes to our spiritual passion. In His seventh love letter to His church Jesus rebukes Christians who were lukewarm and urges them to be “earnest and repent”. He wants them to be hot for Him.

    Love Letters: Wait Patiently
    Series: Love Letters
When we stand before the Lord one day He will not ask us if we were successful in the eyes of the world; He will ask us if we were faithful to do the things that He called us to do. We have already visited churches that, in their own opinions were alive and successful, and yet the Lord said they were dead. Today we visit a church that was weak and seemingly insignificant in the eyes of the world, but they had one thing going for them: they had remained FAITHFUL to the Lord. They had kept His words and had not denied His name. They had learned to wait patiently for the Lord.
